Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-10-30

DRAFT: not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These terms must be reviewed and completed (operator details, liability cap, governing details) before they are relied on.

1. Who and what

These terms govern your use of DepositKit, software that adds drink container deposits to online store orders, offered as an app or plugin for e-commerce platforms (the “Service”). The Service is provided by [operator name, registration number, address: to be completed] (“we”). By installing or using the Service you agree to these terms on behalf of your business.

2. The Service

The Service adds deposit lines to orders according to the countries, amounts and VAT settings you configure. We may change or improve the Service and will try to give notice of changes that materially reduce it.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for checking that the countries, amounts, VAT treatment, labelling and registrations required by each deposit scheme are correct for your business.
  • Preset amounts and VAT modes are provided for convenience, based on public information on the date shown on the countries page. They are not legal or tax advice and may be out of date.
  • You handle refunds, discounts and returns of deposits towards your customers, and you register with any deposit scheme where required.
  • You keep your account credentials secure and use the Service lawfully.

4. Plans and payment

A free plan covers up to 50 orders with a deposit per month. The Pro plan costs €9 per month after a 14-day free trial. Payment is handled through your platform's billing (for Shopify, Shopify billing). You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.

5. Data

How we handle data is described in the privacy policy. The Service does not process your customers' personal data.

6. Availability and support

We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Support is by email at support@depositkit.eu.

7. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or fines or charges arising from incorrect deposit amounts, VAT treatment or scheme obligations. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim [limit to be confirmed]. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access if you seriously breach these terms. On termination your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page at least 30 days before they apply.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia and applicable EU law. Disputes are handled by the competent courts of Latvia, without affecting mandatory consumer-protection rights where they apply.
